In Love with Flourish by Ciana Bodini

Im in Love with Flourish by Ciana Bodini

I love the vintage vibe to this collection

Red Valentino’s Fall 2012 Collection was whimsical and sweet, just like

Flourish! The whole collection was infused with blushing pinks, ruffles, florals on

florals, and over-the-top bows This dress was reminiscent

of Camelots Flourish print.

Flourish by Ciana Bodini. Flourish is a soft and dreamy collection of pretty florals

and streamlined prints. The inviting peach, mint, and mineral blue hues are a

perfect combination for this romantic collection. The effortless femininity of this

collection is reminiscent of a quiet spot in the outskirts of Paris – all you’re

missing is a chic dress, classic french read, and a vintage bicyclette!

Due out Late January in USA, feb in UK

Also check out Ciana Bodini webpage for further scrummy photos.

Vintage Modern Hexagon Quilt

Finally Finished!!
Vintage Modern Hexagon Baby Quilt
Made from half hexagons
33" x 43"
in pinks, reds, aqua and grey
I desided to bind it in a dove grey plain binding
which matches the grey in some of the prints
I don't know if you can see
but I straight line quilted it in pink
Little peek of the red spotty reverse!
And a better view of the reverse
the grey binding looks great with the red
Stitching close up.
The fabric collection is Vintage Modern by Bonnie & Camile
The binding I used was the second in the pile from the top
a colour I have called medium grey!
Almost the weekend!

Vintage Modern Quilt Top Complete!

Vintage Modern Hexi Quilt Top
 Bonnie & Camille fabrics
could wait to try out a half hexagon quilt on these fabrics,
which I purchased yesterday (see yesterdays post).

Out of the 10 FQ fabrics I have used under half,
so i have enough for a doll quilt, cushion and some left for mixing it up with others.
It will be about 38" x 46" ish, once I have a white 2" frame around it, cot, lap or snuggle quilt,
But that's a job for another day.

Saturday Stash

Popped into my local fabric shop to purchase some batting to finish of a quilt.
I ended up walking out with these 10 FQ of vintage modern by Bonnie & Camille.
I was going to buy more and add more of the colours in the collection but had a really annoying woman quilter who keep looking at my picks and saying no you don't want to do that, clashing, no don't add the green, add some of these (yuckky old fashioned peach fabrics - which DONT SIT with Vintage Modern), and where ever I stood she stood next to me holding her matching (but not matching) fabrics,  so I had to get out before she followed me home.
Never thought you could be stalked by a quilter before, first time for everything.
I am thinking of trying a half hexagon quilt with these.
And as Hubby is away working until next Friday,
I think I may just get a bit of sewing in every night after work.
But I can't wait and I am off to cut it into pieces.
I haven't a clue how big I will make, that's my problem I will just lay it out on the floor as I go, it baby cot size or may get a twin single out of it if I border it with white...
Happy Weekend, and watch out for stalking quilters............

New Scrummy Bias Bindings

Candy Stripes
 Polka Dots
 and more....
 Cute Ginghams
 And more.......
 Pretty Florals
 and more...........

My sewing room is fast becoming a sewing notions super store, problem is I sit and stare and think of what shall I make first with them (never mind finishing the 2 quilts, 10 aprons, stack of driftwood hearts, and the pile of pincushions...), just maybe i'll make a few hot pot mats with bias bound edges, or i'll just drool over filling up the candy store with jumbo pompom trim I have found in 12 fab colours, coming soon.
