Hello you Hello me

Saturday Afternoon Sew Magazine Free Pattern
Made a top! not a dress.,
Using only the top 2 pieces and 2 facings, I
have straight cut the top at the sides, there will be no darts.
It will be a short shell top with a cute neckline.
Perfect for high waisted work skirts and a jacket…….
Fabric is kasbah in poppy by Joel Dewberry from his new Flora Collection.
http://blondedesign-astitchintime.com/collecti…/fabric/Flora

excuse the fact I have not brushed my hair for 12 hours, applied any more lippy, but you will get the picture me in my new top :-)

First the pleats are in, and stay stitched.

I love doing french seams,
not asked for in the pattern
but makes for a nice neat top at shoulders and side seam smile emoticon

Neck facing - note to self,
sort out your exposed overlocked edge before taking photo  lol.
Then turned pressed and large straight stitch to finish.

Armhole bias binding the edge,
I chose to use a cheeky contrasting polka dot bias binding, from my stock of over 250..
this one is 18mm red spot.

Finished Pleated Front

Finished back with button holes rather than zip
all odd in size and shade to add a bit of quirk!

And as First picture worn by me

Vintage Modern Quilt Top Complete!

Vintage Modern Hexi Quilt Top
 Bonnie & Camille fabrics
could wait to try out a half hexagon quilt on these fabrics,
which I purchased yesterday (see yesterdays post).

Out of the 10 FQ fabrics I have used under half,
so i have enough for a doll quilt, cushion and some left for mixing it up with others.
It will be about 38" x 46" ish, once I have a white 2" frame around it, cot, lap or snuggle quilt,
But that's a job for another day.

Rainbow Paintbox Quilt Top

Rainbow Paintbox quilt top finally finished
It is great having the week off work
I have been finishing all those projects hanging around
This one just needs the batting, back and binding.................

I hung it next to my oil painting which is 40" x 40"
I painted it a few years ago, you may recognise the painting
although it could never pass for a fake! as my painting to too flat compared to Matisse
(sorry Matisse, but you were a little sloppy and never seemed to cover the canvas in paint)
Anyway its a take off of the 1939 The Music by Matisse.
Mine is a similar size to the original.
A man after my own heart, can't work in small scale!
Anyway so you don't get confused above photo is the original painting by Matisse
The below photo is my painting
I have never shown anybody on my blog my paintings before....
Now to complete my argyle quilt......
After trip to Sainsbury's
