Sorry I've been gone to long....!

Well, not quite sure where the last three weeks have gone, I've had no time to up date my blog, read blogs, and make stuff!But I'm back, after working ridiculously long hours from 8am to 7pm even 9pm in the week, popping away with my mum one weekend, having friends over another weekend, I couldn't wait to get going again this weekend, in between the washing and now is time to catch up other blogs. Hope you all had a great long weekend, it's a shame to go back to work but at least the hours will be back to normal and I can home and create. So this blog is going to be long.....
My first make this weekend was the mini tote above, the lunch bag as I like to call it. Made with Amy Butler Full moon and Kathy Hall Frippery, I am going to have to buy this frippery in all the colours I can get my hands on.

Next I perfected Freddie the frog, stuffed with polyfil, so he can be used as a pincushion, I now have too many pincushions on the go around the house, and as I come up with new ones I just have to add to them, in colours to match the room, so I am going to have to make a pink and green Freddie for the sewing room!

I have got into making tissue holders, they are a little bit addictive.....

the ones shown are in Summersville, Avenue print, who sells on Folksy and Etsy, My stash of Amy Butler fabrics is now running low, so need stock up, as I have found making these cute tissue holders are great to mix and match the pints. (I can see a giant stack of these filling up table soon...) I'll post further pictures of the others in zingy prints later in the week, all for sale in www.blondedesign.folksy.com

Lastly I had been waiting on some fab Japanese fabrics to arrive to make buttons, which arrived on Thursdaylittle Red riding Hood Buttons & Robot buttons, for sale in www.blondesbackyard.folksy.com I just love these linen fabric buttons

CUSHION TIME

New cushion delivery next week, and am expanding my cushions sizes to 12" square, 16" square and 20" square, so sizes for everybody, problem I am having is having time (erm not sitting at the computer reading blogs time), to create new cushions, If I sell a cushion I think will sell again, I remake it for sale (sell what sells, I say!!) and this week sold 2 white BAM cushions, a camouflage skull (only in the shop 24hrs) and the popular black and red on white skull, so had to make these 4 again in 12" before venturing onto any new ones, so in my laziness I have only made the pink on black skull in the new 12" and a Red POW in the new 12".
Hopefully more to come this week, although My Mum has been waiting for a small teapot teacozy for I don't know how long!! and as its Mothers day, and she is coming to stay I had better get making one, plus write my list now of what to do when I get in from work and tick off as I go...

As Spring may just be one its Way, and I spotted my first flowering snowdrops yesterday! I thought I would brighten up the weekend with some sunshine from Folksy.

New cute lavender owls for sale, I have made these with Amy Butler Fabrics, I wonder if somebody can put me right but have heard the lotus full moon fabric is discontinued (oh no, I love this versatile fabric!).

RE-USE, RE-CYCLE, RE-INVENT

OK, so do you ever buy too many craft things, thinking, oh I'll start making some of those, well I can quite honestly hold both my hands up and, yes me me me a few times over.
The pile of beads, bead making wire thingies, vintage beads, some nappy pin brooch things (Mmm as you can see my terminology on jewellery making is zero...) oh and a reel of stretchy clear wire stuff for bracelets, is one little pile, I know I cant just throw away, so the first person, hopefully a jewellery making person who leaves a message gets it. My Experiment

I received some scrummy comic book fabric the post, and have been toying with the idea of what to use it for, so for starters here is my first needle book at 9cm x 9cm.

What do you think?

Think I may also make some puffy pincushions to match, cute make up bags for blondedesigns and pencil cases for babyblondedesign...

LOOK WHAT I GOT...

I have been at my Mums for 3 days wearing these very cute handmade slipper socks, which I received the post just before I left.
These are my folksy heart swap present from cakesknitsandcosies
also received this cute hand knitted heart, which I am going to attach to my keyring.

My sis-in-law thought they were fab, and thought I may have made them, as last year (shame on me) her Mum gave me an unused knitting machine, along with, retro knitting mags 40 years old and instructions and wool, which I have always wanted.

But had to sadly point out that a} the the machine has yet to see daylight, as still in the corner of my sewing room b} Even if I had managed to get it out the box, does she really think I could whip up a lovely pair of knitted slippers with cream edging and with different stitches c} my knitting skills still amount to zero.

So all you knitters out there, you have no fear in the next to distant future ( I am guessing 5-10 years) that I won't be whipping up knitted bikini's, retro brown and orange groovy legwarmers (for rollerblading), cute fingerless gloves, cushion covers in tones of greys of the union jack, beanie hats, a red Beret and pretty hanging hearts.

New to blonde's backyard will be my pincushions, a girl can never have too many pincushions in my opinion, one in sewing room, one in the lounge, one hanging off the sewing machine and a ring on my finger for the ease of taking pins out, whilst trying to sew around frogs legs.....more on the frogs legs another time. ...

These are approx 10-11cm, fully stuffed and boy does your hand ache holding the threads tight trying to make it evenly puffy!

Not quite an engagement ring........

I couldn't let Valentines Day pass without making something with hearts in mind, and the fact that I am also involved with a heart swap (not that any of these will be of use to my heart swap buddy as she is a jewellery maker using resin!), I know others are also involved in heart swaps , and these are created in the style of the Alice in Wonderland heart swap. The buttons are 22mm and the rings, well what can I say other than they are rings with felt brought from Lily Whites shop on folksy.
