Orla Kiely Inspired

Take some Robert Kaufman Quilters linen
(received these in the post yesterday from USA, and I am not disappointed)
Purchased from freshsqueezedfabrics at etsy
They are 100% quilters cottons, with a printed linen look, wonderful.
They came to $44.00 (£28.00) for the 8 1/2 yards!!
$61.44 (Under £40.00 including delivery).
I thought I would have to pay extra on import duties, but somehow they managed to pass though and land on my mat.

Inspired by this, Orla Kiely

One fab pattern from The sometimes crafter
Retro Flower Quilt pattern
Which I purchased last week, ready to go,
I will use as a base but turn all the petals in the same direction
To get this ish, which may or may not have black lines
Also will have rounder petals
(but anyway its the inspiration)
The fabrics close up, aren't they just scrummy.

MORDERN QUILTED CUSHION - FINISHED!!

Finally finished the quilted cushion, after picking up some batting, and the stuff works a treat, just what I had been looking for to do padded gadget cases, as using wadding is far to bulky.
This is a big big 22" x 22" fully quilted front and a brushed cotton, chocolate brown heavy weight fabric back, trimmed with my polka dot chocolate brown bias binding and logo.

I now feel I can tackle a couple more in different colours before embarking on baby quilts or floor mats. I am going to put this up for sale in babyblondedesign.
Now off to drink a ice cold glass of white white!

THE AMERICAN DREAM

The American dream, New England, Coastal, Shabby Chic or just simply Patriotic! Just don't know what way to describe these two pure linen cushions. Originally made with boys in mind, but then again anybody with a 'seaside' look or white washed floorboards and worn chairs could also sit them on the sofa. I may even look at doing the design in reverse colours and the star design I guess would also sell on its own in other colours............what do you think?
