MAKE
QST (Quarter Square Triangle) NINE PATCH
These were in a little pamphlet from Patchwork & Quilting Magazine.
In collaboration with Amy Butler.
3 Fabrics 9if mine)
Patterned - three 5.5" x 5.5" squares
Orange - three 5.5" x 5.5" squares
Blue - four 4.5" x 4.5" squares
First how to make a QST
Lay one orange square over patterned fabric
draw a line diagonal - right sides together
(sorry can barley see in my picture)
Sew 1/4 inch seams down either side of drawn line
Cut between the seams.
Before moving fabric cut again through opposite corners.
Press these open
from that one you will now have half sqaures (four)
Join these halfs together, press open
When you have make them all, you will have 6 finished QST.
You only need 5 of these for your block.
Trim your squares to 4.5" square, to match the blue squares
Lay out you 5 QST and 4 blue squares
first join into rows and press
Then join those rows together and press
Finished!!
