THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE NOT SO UGLY

THE GOOD
I have been contacted and asked to sell my Ollie Tea cosies & Olive coffee cosies on a website called Hunkydoryhome, they have a few sellers from Folksy, so I am very happy to soon see them being sold on there, they have some fab bits and pieces and they make their own retro lampshades which I love, so may have to purchase one for our spare room, will let you know as soon as I go on line, which I think is for September so could get a few more Christmas sales!
THE BAD
Not normally one to talk about my family, but my father passed away on Friday from Cancer and we have found this lovely woodland burial park a couple of miles from my Mother in Epping Forest, it is a wonderful place where everything has to be biodegradable and only a small wooden plaque or carving is allowed and the forest is maintained and not disturbed. We have chosen a coppiced Chestnut tree to put his ashes under (we though it fitted as he was a ginger nut!) which has 4 trunks like a big hand, which you can sit in, and listen to the sounds of the forest.

THE NOT SO UGLY
http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/
My Baby Blonde design stuff has been accepted to sell on Notonthehighstreet, which I know could generate a lot of sales so again am chuffed, my only problem is the cost! I know of only one folksy / etsy seller selling on there (halfanacre) so may have to wrack her brains as to sales and did they increase a lot as to warrant the cost, if anybody else sells on the site, I would be grateful for your knowledge and for you to say yes, do it!!

THE AMERICAN DREAM

The American dream, New England, Coastal, Shabby Chic or just simply Patriotic! Just don't know what way to describe these two pure linen cushions. Originally made with boys in mind, but then again anybody with a 'seaside' look or white washed floorboards and worn chairs could also sit them on the sofa. I may even look at doing the design in reverse colours and the star design I guess would also sell on its own in other colours............what do you think?

THREE MORE YO-YO HAIR CLIPS

Well I a good weekend had, although I did spend Saturday with my Plumbing Husband being his total gofer and tiling 'mate', he taught me too well. My Kids tote bags got the thumbs up and are now being packed off to America today!

And to waste time in front of the TV, I made 3 more hair yo-yo's, a bit late for 4th July on the America flag set, but after picking up the vintage American bandanna, I am determined not to let it sit in the cupboard. So the next task is button fridge magnets, the flat backed buttons which you need for these can be found at Blooming felt, who is on Etsy and Folksy but the buttons are only available from her own website.

I will make this evening, after I have spent the day being plumbers run around. The tiling and plumbing shops have got to know me by now, and I can now argue the toss over the fixtures and fittings.

CUSTOM LISTING 2 KIDS TOTE BAGS

I am sad to see these totes go, but I know they will look good over the arms of two children carrying their library books. I was asked to produce them in denim, to match.

The boys one in his favorite colours red and blue, and the day before I picked up a vintage American stars and stripes bandanna in the charity shop (Perfect!).
The girls favorite colours are pink and turquoise so the Amy Butler fabric I have for the cupcake cushions fitted the bill perfectly.

I really wanted to get hold of pink strap webbing, but could not find any anywhere, only in red, blue, black, and white, which was fine for the boys tote, so opted to match them up so no fights over who's straps are better!
The bookworms were an added bonus as I thought they fitted the theme perfectly, just a little detail; the girl bookworm holds a pink book the boy bookworm holds a blue book.
I must say though small bookworms are fiddly to do!
If only my mum brought me bags like this when I was young, you may have not got me out of the library. Kx

YO-YO HAIR CLIPS!!!

http://www.folksy.com/shops/babyblondedesign

Add a little vintage charm to your little girl's hair.
Yo-Yo's were traditionally made from scraps of worn clothing and made into quilts.
My yo-yo's have been made from scraps from past projects and fashioned into hair clips. They are hand sewn and accented with vintage, found or candy coloured buttons. (Any new buttons used come from my 2 favorite button sellers Hollingdale Designs from Folksy http://www.folksy.com/shops/HollingdaleDesigns and Blooming Felt from Etsy www.BloomingFelt.etsy.com
).

APRON WINNER!!

After putting all your names in a bowl!;
the winner is SILKY PRUDENCE. Congratulations!!! (I will email you, for your address).
But all you others do not despair as I will be giving another apron away next month, another vintaged, so watch out.
